USAF BMT Flight Photos
Flight Photos for 1979
Men and women received identical training in 1979. Drill and ceremonies consumed 32 of the 280 hrs of academic and other instruction the basics obtained during their 6-week stay at Lackland. Physical training, designed to trim away the pounds, used up 28 hrs. Another 14 hrs were devoted to marksmenship training and running the confidence course.

I always heard that AF boot camp was a breeze as compared to the Army boot camp I went to.....being in bootcamp 1989 Ft Sill Ok.. _________________ If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.

| Our drill sergeants were from the 82nd Airborne. They gave us hell. I really liked the training, but I despised most of the ass holes I went through training with. |

That depends, we have a different mission and it's more of a mind game. Until recently, when the 8 weeks BMT got approved, which the other services were pressuring for because augmentees for Joint Operations weren't of the same cloth (ehem). The overall US Military is going to suffer exponentially, more than ever before and especially more than under the Clinton Administration, in these changes to pull the USAF down to a sewer mission (no offense). We're all gonna fucking die now! |

| BTW, my flight photo isn't in the archives, because it's dependent on the prior servicemembers to send them a digital copy in 2 parts, because of their size. I didn't get around to it, because I was dealing with alot of bullshit and I don't know if I will at this point. Sigh. |

I have been reading a book about that war / massacre / slaughter in Bosnia-Herzegovinia, Macedonia, Montegegro, former Yugoslavia. "Seasons in Hell" It is places like that which firm my belief in reincarnation and returning to earth-like planets (lower astral planes) which are actually hells.
One of my best friends, Jim Brewer, was in the 82nd Airborne in SE Asia. He retired after 23 years of service. He had an excellent voice for country and western. They tried to get me to go airborne, but, as I said before, I wanted nothing to do with that or only if there was no choice. I just wanted a steady job with some challenge. |
