I had a really nice girlfriend for nearly four years whose father, a medical doctor, was a classmate with Ronald Reagan at Eureka College. They were on the same football team together. Apparently just about everybody liked Ron Reagan. The Reagans were Irish. They were from County Cork, or some of them were. One of Ron Reagan's relatives lived in the same town I was passing through on a train in 1980 when Coras Iompair Eireann derailed it killing eighteen and horribly mutilating many others. Over 65 people were injured. Somebody sent me a news article about the O'Reagans of County Cork. One of them was so extremely similar in appearance to Ronald Reagan it was really something. Almost like a twin.

The bottom line is Ronnie was a great guy as a person and the best President I can recall in my lifetime.

I miss him dearly. Yeah, he grew up in Dixon, Illinois and was a lifeguard at the swimming pool there.

Is Nancy still alive? They were no doubt deeply in love. It showed.

I guess the guy she married was the best part of my luck
She dug him cause he drove a pick-up truck

Yes she sure is...amazing woman too...
We need someone like Reagan today just as back then...
Someone who inspires all folks to be better than they can...see Reagan didn't do that much domestically ..as a president shouldn't...he inspired others to fix America and for a brief minute we did and took great pride in it too.
It was great growing up in the Reagan 80s as a kid...it inspired me then and still does today..
Sadly many forgot.. those words and those lessons...

I remember the day after Ronald Reagan was elected or took office the Ayatolla Khomeini of Iran decided to let the Amerikkkan hostages go. They had been kept 444 days. I was where they were first released to when they got off the jet. Others there were Jimmy Carter, Ed Muskey, Cyrus Vance, Helmut Schmidt. It was quite an affair. There were terrorist threats then too.

And the Iranians had to do with Carter being voted out by keeping the hostages and making Amerikkka look impotent.
